Why in the World Do People Believe What they are Thinking?

Instructor: Dr. Jack Fucci
Time: Monday night: September 14-November 16th. 7-10 pm.
This is a sequel course to Major Worldviews I (What in the World are People Thinking)? However there is not a prerequisite to this course. This course will look at the personalities that have affected the thinking of modern society. Men such as Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, Soren Kirkegard, Julius Wellhousen, John Dewey, who are still affecting us even though they have died and are buried. We will briefly look at the founders of Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, Christian Science and others. The beliefs of the major cults will be reviewed as well.

Leadership that leaves a Legacy

Instructor: Elder Donnie Rosa
Time: Thursday night: September 17-November 19th. 7-10 pm.
The current model of leadership in our nation and world seems to have slipped into a charisma without character mold. With this style of leadership as our example and eroding standard, have we lost the meaning of effective Biblical leadership? True leadership is much more than exercising positional authority over subordinates to achieve personal victories and reach lofty goals. True biblical leadership is leadership that effects future generations and leaves a legacy through the powerful dynamic of godly influence. This God-given model can only be realized through a life that is committed to have character as the framework and foundation as charisma.

How to study the Bible

Instructor: Dr. Jack Fucci
Time: Friday night: September 18-November 20th. 7-10 pm
Many people have various views of the Bible. Even many, who are church going people, believe various things about the nature of the Bible. Does it “contain” the word of God as Neo-orthodoxy teaches? Is it a record of what religious men thought about God through the centuries? We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, immutable word of God. But why believe this? Is there evidence for this?? Your view of the Bible will affect your hermeneutic (interpretation) of the bible. Having an understanding of the nature of the Bible and an overview of its doctrine will give the student a much better understanding of what its verses mean.
